r, President
Gregg Shaffer is
a innovative results-driven business leader with more than 20 years of experience. He has positively affected corporate bottom lines through expert development and execution of business strategies for a diverse array of organizations, including start-ups, multibillion dollar global corporations, and non-profit associations. He is currently a Program Manager working for a global non-profit organization in Delaware County.



Joseph Panaro, Treasurer

Joseph Panaro is Vice President of Bryn Mawr Trust Bank. He is a dynamic finance professional with over 25 years of comprehensive management experience coupled with an extensive lending, underwriting and marketing background.




Anne Gates, Secretary

Anne Gates is a Family Nurse Practitioner at Community Volunteers in Medicine, in West Chester, PA. She volunteers her time providing health care to the working poor and uninsured. Anne has volunteered countless times at Chester County Family Academy. She has donated bookbags and supplies to our new students. Anne is a proficient speaker in both Spanish and French.




Kathleen Potts

Kathy Potts is a beloved volunteer at Chester County Family Academy. She works with the second grade students on science projects, math, and art. Kathy was a third grade teacher at Goshen Friends School for 11 years. She is the mother of a special needs child. Kathy has served on the board of the Arc and various committees. She has recently illustrated a children's book called, It's OK, Everybody's Different.





Sheriff Bunny Welsh
Carolyn Bunny Welsh of Chadds Ford has served as the Chester County Sheriff since 2000. She is the first woman ever elected to the Office of Sheriff in the history of Chester County. She is secretary of the Chester County Hero Fund and serves as a Commissioner on the Pennsylvania Commission for Women. She is on the board of the Chester County Industrial Development Authority and a member of the Rotary Club of West Chester. Sheriff Welsh is the mother of four and a grandmother of nine.
 



Carla M. Messikomer, PhD

Carla has been affiliated with the school in a volunteer capacity for the past 14 years  She is currently the Manager of Academic Resources for a global professional membership organization, who works with scholars in university business and engineering schools to support and disseminate new research. She has published articles in the fields of organizational ethics, project management, health care, and gerontology.

Steven J. Reto, O.D., Foundation Board Member

Steven Reto is recognized as a leader in the contact lens and practice management field. He has published in numerous journals, both nationally and internationally, and has lectured on many topics of optometric care. Dr. Reto remains active in the community, donating his time and efforts to the Chester County Family Academy and various school districts.





Daniel Woody, Advisory Board

Daniel Woody is a former special education teacher who taught in a “hard to staff” school in Southwest Philadelphia.  He now practices criminal and education law.  He is an Assistant District Attorney working in the Appellate Unit of the Office of the District Attorney of Delaware County.  He also is a partner at Woody Law Offices, P.C. where he represents parents and students in special education matters.  Prior to joining Woody Law Offices, he represented school districts and charter school in Delaware County.
